As an admirer and collector of pretty books, I’m loving the current styling movement to incorporate old books into weddings as decorations. If you’re a bookworm bride or if you’re planning a vintage-themed party, this trend might be for you.
Three ways to steal this style
Use beautiful antique books as…
1. Centrepieces. Stack a sweet pile of weathered books in the middle of each table and top with a few mismatched vases filled with whimsical garden blooms.
2. Conversation starters. A collection of poems or childhood fables propped up in front of place settings will get your guests chattering at the beginning of the night.
3. In place of table numbers. Got a favourite author or playwright? Use them as the theme for your reception and name each table after one of their works – just place an aged hardback of each title on the relevant tables. Who wouldn’t want to sit at Midsummer Night’s Dream or Anne of Green Gables table?
