Team Lara Hotz‘s amazing wedding photography with Peachey Pie‘s incredible planning and styling skills, add a whole lot of colour, love and confetti, then you have a recipe for an unforgettable wedding. So I wasn’t at all surprised when I discovered the fun-loving wedding of Mereki & Nick featured in the latest issue of Hello May magazine. It was a pleasure floral styling this wedding last August and of course making a flower-smothered naked vanilla cake for the cake table. The flowers: A fresh mix of spring white and green blooms, including freesias, ranunculus, Queen Anne’s lace, anemones, pierus, baby’s breath and double tulips
The cake: two tiers of vanilla buttercake with raspberry jam and vanilla buttercream, with a gluten-free base tier of chocolate and hazelnut brownie cake with dark chocolate ganache filling, all covered in vanilla buttercream and topped with fresh ranunculus and freesias

Elsie’s first birthday

My beautiful daughter Elsie turned one in June and to celebrate this wonderful parenting milestone, I went a bit overboard baking enough cake to feed 150 people! You can never have too much cake right? I created a nude gluten-free chocolate brownie cake with cream cheese & white chocolate filling and a salted caramel drizzle; a caramel mud cake with an ombre teal, white and lilac buttercream cake with gold shading; and a two-tiered raspberry red velvet cake with a rose-flavoured white chocolate drizzle and meringue kisses!
